LeadTimes
Booking is advisable as early as possible to ensure your date is secured, particularly during the busy wedding season. Most of our cakes are sponge and therefore cannot be baked more than a few days in advance to ensure they are fresh. We ask for a minimum of 3 months notice for wedding cakes and 1 month for celebration cakes but depending on our schedule and the design of your cake we may be able to accomodate shorter notice so please contact us.
Prices
All prices are non-negotiable and priced according the design and specification of your particular cake. If you have a particular budget to stick to then we may be able to alter some designs to accomodate this. Following your consultation/booking your quote is valid for 1 month, paying your deposit (see below) secures this prive and prevents any further price increases, except in exception circumstances beyond our control eg exceptional fuel price increases.
If you decide on fresh flowers on your cake then these will not be included in the price but we can work with your florist to match most flowers you may be using on the day.
Deposits
For wedding cakes we ask for 50% of the total balance and this is refundable within 14 days of your booking should you change your mind.
For celebration cakes full payment is required upon your order.
Payment
Payment is required by either cheque, cash or BACS. If you are using the bank transfer system we ask that you email confirmation of the transfer so we can confirm reciept of your monies.
Final Payment
Final payment for you wedding cake is required no later than 4 weeks before your collection/delivery date. It is your responsibility to remember this payment so you may wish to post-date a cheque or put a future date on your BACS transfer.
Cancellation
In the event of a cancellation we reserve the right to retain your 50% deposit. If cancellation takes place 3 weeks before the event we reserve the right to keep 75% of the total price of if cancellation takes place 7 days prior then 100% of teh value will be retained to cover production costs of the cake.
Cancellation must be made in writing (by letter or email) to The Delicious Cake Company and will take effect from the date the letter arrived on our premises. If you postpone your event we will endeavour to transfer your order providing the date is suitable for ourselves, otherwise it shall be treated as a cancellation (see above).
We retain the right to cancel the booking in exceptional circumstances such as ill health or fire in which case we will refund any deposit money taken in full.
Design Conditions
We know that your cakes are very personal to you and your ideas may change but please be aware that if you change your design this may have an effect on the price of your cake. Payment of your deposit confirms your quote and all the details therein. Design alterations can be made uo to but no later than 1 month before cllection/delivery, however fruitcakes & sugar flowers require 3 months notice. If the alteration affects the cost then your balance will be adjusted accordingly. Please warn us when you pay your deposit if you are unsure of the design.
